Thomas Meyers. This course will discuss a number of alternative methods of house construction, ranging from the oldest to the most modern. Log construction will represent the oldest style discussed due to its popularity in the mountain west. The discussion will then move to a variety of emerging styles and trends that may soon be seen as conventional. Emphasis will be placed on the Tiny (Small) House Movement, its driving philosophy and impact that modern codes is having on its production. This class will help the student think outside the conventional norm to assist in evaluation and acceptance of new methods that are affordable, attainable and safe to live in.
