The City of Lafayette, Colorado is seeking a Combination Inspector with a current State of Colorado Journeyman or Master Electrician License.  Experience with both residential and commercial construction is required.

This position is focused on providing electrical inspection services to many different types of projects from basement finishes and remodels to solar installations and all types of commercial projects.  The city is experiencing a diverse growth in building activity from new single-family dwellings and multi-family to new commercial buildings and tenant finish projects which will provide a fantastic challenge to correctly interpret the requirements of the adopted building codes.

Electrical Inspector, Senior:
Salary Range: $68,432 – $102,648
Hiring Range: $68,432 – $85,540

The City of Lafayette, Colorado is seeking an Electrical Inspector that is willing to train as a Combination Building Inspector.   Experience with both residential and commercial construction is required.  Located in Boulder County, Colorado, the City of Lafayette offers the opportunity to work in a diverse, progressive, and eclectic community with a focus on safe building practices, maintaining a high quality of life and promotion of sustainability, the arts, and our natural resources.

The City may hire individuals above the hiring range who possess an ICC Combination Inspector certification. Candidates that do not possess Combination Inspection certification will be considered with the expectation that on-the-job inspection training will occur, and the candidate will be expected to acquire the needed inspection certifications as their training progresses.

The ideal candidate will have a current Journeyman’s or Master Electrician license and will have experience in either the public or private sector experience managing residential and commercial projects at the foreman or quality control level or will have experience providing inspection services to such projects.  The successful candidate will have the desire to train and gain the certifications and experience to complete inspections for Residential and Commercial Plumbing, Mechanical, and Building Inspections.  The city is experiencing a diverse growth in building activity from new single-family dwellings and multi-family to new commercial buildings and tenant finish projects which will provide a fantastic challenge to correctly interpret the requirements of the adopted building codes.
