Wall Bracing – American Wood Council – The 2024 International Residential Code (IRC) provides detailed guidelines for constructing one- and two-family dwellings, as well as townhouses, up to three stories. This presentation covers the key requirements for prescriptive wall bracing, including lateral load paths, required connections to resist these forces, the various types of braced wall panels, and the correct implementation of braced wall lines.
