The Town of Breckenridge Community Development Department is seeking a dedicated and customer service oriented individual for the position of Building Inspector II/III, to be filled depending on qualifications. Placement in the Building Inspector II and Building Inspector III position is at the discretion of management and is generally based on organizational needs and candidate qualifications. Candidates with a Journeyman License or Master Electrician is preferred. Individuals in this position are responsible for enforcing all adopted Building, Plumbing, and Mechanical codes and standards, as well as Electrical (if qualified), in the construction, alteration and repair and demolition of buildings and other structures through site inspections and public counter assistance.

Qualifications:
Building Inspector II
High school diploma
Minimum of 5 years experience in building, construction, or inspection services

Building Inspector III
High school diploma
Minimum of 10 years experience in building, construction, electrical and plumbing inspection or plan review

Licenses, Certificates or Equipment Required:
Building Inspector II
ICC Residential Building Inspection Certificate or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire
Valid Colorado driver’s license and acceptable MVR check

Building Inspector III
ICC Residential Building Inspection Certificate in at least one field of inspection
Valid Colorado driver’s license and acceptable MVR check
Master Electrician or Journeyman License; if not Colorado licensed ability to obtain Colorado license within 6 months of hire

Flex Schedules possible, generally Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week or as needed at the discretion of management.

HIRING RANGES:
Building Inspector II:
Salary Range: $30.50 – $42.70 DOQ

Building Inspector III:
Salary Range: $31.00 – $45.00 DOQ
