The successful candidate will be an integral team member in the Community Development Department.  Duties include performing administrative and customer service work in support of the Building Division and Planning Division.  The Permit Technician is responsible for providing front line service to builders, contractors, and the general public; building code administration, processing and issuing building permits, data input into permit tracking software; coordinating public information requests; receiving and scheduling building inspection requests;  answering common technical questions concerning building code requirements and other applicable town ordinances; coordinating and providing support for planning review and filing documents; and plans contractor licensing administration.

 

Qualifications:

·         A high school diploma or GED required.

·         Certification from International Code Council (ICC) as Permit Technician.

·         Experience working in a professional office environment with significant contact with the public required.

·         Minimum of three (3) years customer service that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities, with local government work highly desirable.

Salary Range:
$46,985 – $64,272
