Planning and Building Permit Technician

The City of Lafayette, Colorado is looking for an experienced permit technician with excellent customer service skills to join the Planning and Building team. The ideal candidate will be customer service oriented, well organized, detail oriented, able to multi-task and is friendly and outgoing. We are also looking for individuals that have experience in evaluating and implementing process and service enhancements.

This position serves as a main contact with daily interactions with the public, city employees, inspectors, plans examiners, planning staff and Building Official. The position is responsible for administration of all permitting activities within the department and includes application intake, completeness checks, routing projects for plan review, issuing permits and collecting permit fees. The position also assists with scheduling of inspections. ICC Permit Technician certification required
