Position Overview:

As the Electrical Inspector, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the safety of the Aspen residents and visitors. Your mission will be to perform inspections and plan reviews across building, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing functions. Responsibilities:

In tandem with the Chief Building Official and fellow inspectors, you’ll inspect and evaluate residential and commercial electrical systems to ensure appropriate codes are maintained in a safe and professional manner.
You’ll review construction plans for compliance with applicable building codes and issue building permits accordingly.
In addition to maintaining the integrity of the inspection database, you’ll prepare records for inspection requests, provide inspection reports, and complete forms necessary for the issuance of permits.
Competencies:

You have a demonstrated interest in and knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing disciplines.
You can communicate concisely and effectively through a variety of methods, such as email, written reports, and verbally with highly developed interpersonal skills
Qualifications:

You have a minimum of four years of professional experience in a construction related position and/or as a Combination Building Inspector. Public sector experience preferred.
You have a technical/vocational/associate degree in engineering technology, architectural technology, construction management, business, or a related field.
You have a valid Journeyman’s Electrician License.
